"Balance is not something you find, it's something you create"
Hey Beautiful Ones!I hope your 2019 has been treating you right! It’s been a lil bit since my last blog post.
So what have I been up to? Work, work, work! I’ve been stretching and growing. By day I’m a HR Systems Consultant. I help clients implement HR software that will help them manage their HR and Talent needs. I moved over to a new team towards the end of last summer and my projects are much more complex. It’s been challenging and rewarding.
I was also recently appointed President of a Business Resource Group at my office. This group is near and dear to my heart. We’ve been planning and hosting events that help associates with career development, mentoring, and networking initiatives. It was at one of these very events where I said to myself “I’d love to be apart of this” and not even a year later here we are.
With all that being said, I struggled with finding balance. Speaking of balance. Let’s talk about that today. At times, I find that balance is hard for me. I’m sure it is for many of us. When one area of my life gets busy, I feel overwhelmed and put all my time and energy into that one area. As a result, other areas of my life that need attention are put on the back burner. I know, not good!
In an effort to create a more balanced life, I’d like to share some tips that have been quite helpful for me.
Set goals - Set goals for all areas of your life.
Create a routine - Have a morning and evening routine in place. It will help you begin and end your day with structure and feel more grounded.
Be consistent - Maintaining consistency builds momentum. It will get you to your goal.
Keep a positive mindset - Develop positive self-talk. It will help you manage your emotions. Especially on those hard days.
Find your tribe - Share your goals with your tribe. They are there to help and celebrate you!
Take time for yourself - No matter how much you have going on, do not forget to indulge in some daily self care.
Reflect - Take sometime everyday to reflect on what you've accomplished.
If you’re struggling with balance, I encourage you to try the tips above. It will take time and things may not always go as planned. But having a plan in place to help you find balance will keep you on the right track.
Thank you for reading. Until next time!
XOXO
